The 75th annual Cannes Film Festival is a 2022 film festival scheduled to take place from 17 to 28 May 2022. The festival will see a tribute to actor Tom Cruise, whose film Top Gun: Maverick is due to premiere at the festival. The official poster for the festival was designed as an homage to The Truman Show.
The scheme involves inviting young people aged between 18 and 28 to the beginning and end of the festival to discover films from the Official Selection. It was so successful that it has been made an annual event. In 2019, it joined with the "Cannes Cinephiles" programme to welcome more than 7,000 fans to its cinemas.
To submit a film, you need to:
- Comply with the Preselection Conditions.
- Fill out the online Entry Form.
- Upload your film online (for short films)
- Send your film (for feature films) to the address indicated at the bottom of the Entry Form.
- If your film is selected, you must comply with the Festival's Rules and Regulations.
- Nearly 2,000 films are submitted to the Cannes Film Festival every year, and the selection committee watches every one of them. Only about 50 feature films and 10 short films are chosen to be part of the Official Selection, the main body of work that is the center of the festival.
- The Festival de Cannes is exclusively reserved to professionals of the film industry.
