Commonwealth Games - 2022 [Birmingham]

The Olympics is a sporting competition for the countries that sign the Olympic charter for fair sports. This one covers mostly the entire world. The Commonwealth Games is competition for countries originally under the British rule throughout the world..

The Commonwealth is an association of countries across the world. Although historically connected to the British Empire, any country can apply to be a member of the Commonwealth, regardless of its intersection with Britain's colonial past. The Commonwealth consists of 54 countries, including the United Kingdom.
This year's Commonwealth Games will feature some sports that are not included in the Olympic Games. For 2022, those events are T20 cricket (women), lawn bowls, netball and squash.

Of these, 14 are yet to win a medal of any kind at the Commonwealth Games. The Commonwealth consists of 54 sovereign nations, plus 18 territories that compete under their own flags.
The Canadian city of Hamilton proved a gracious first host of the Commonwealth Games. The inaugural Games were then called the British Empire Games.

Each year, numerous ministerial meetings take place, both in Commonwealth countries and at the Commonwealth headquarters at Marlborough House in London.
The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday (28 July) at the Alexander Stadium to mark the start of the Games. Birmingham-born duo Duran Duran will be among those headlining the event, which is expected to be watched by more than a billion people around the world.
At the 2022 Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Team England will compete against the 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth across 19 different sports.

BBC Sport will show more than 200 hours of action, across up to 11 live streams, to provide comprehensive coverage of July's Commonwealth Games. All the drama and excitement will broadcast across BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Three, with more live action available on the BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport website and Red Button.
India are sending a 215-member contingent for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The multi-sport event will take place from 28 July to 8 August, 2022. The 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games will see many high-profile athletes attempting to bring laurels to their respective countries.

The 2022 Men's Hockey Asia Cup is the eleventh edition of the Men's Hockey Asia Cup, the quadrennial international men's field hockey championship of Asia organised by the Asian Hockey Federation. On 15 March 2022 it was announced the tournament will be held at the GBK Hockey Field in Jakarta, Indonesia from 23 May to 1 June 2022.[1]

India are the defending champions.[2] The top three teams not already qualified will qualify for the 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup.[3]
