Space Technology verses Automobiles

Blogging In EnglishTechnological advancements and developments tend to trickle down from specialized use to more commercialized application. If history is anything to go by ,there is ample proof that the coolest gadgets we get to play with today once belonged exclusively to more "serious' operations,Be it High speed internet, duct tape,or sanitary napkins all all were handed to us through the commercialization of previously exclusive Technology. IN near future we all can see in our cars.
Self -driving Capabilities
Autonomous driving is no longer a figment of our. Sci-fi imagination. With increase in road use and the hazards associated with it,self -driving protocols have already begun integrating into modern vehicles. However , autonomous driving ,as we know it Today, weren't developed for civilian use.It was designed by NASA for space modules that were meant to explore the moon and Mars.
They used several types of imaging equipment and sensors to avoid obstacles and maneuver around obstacles. The same data has been coupled artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning to help improve driving protocols on Earth.
Heads up display (HUDs)
We have heads -up display that is appearing more frequently in cars ,Heads up displays project vital pieces of information onto the windscreen or visor without the v affecting visibility of the driver. This enables them to receive critical information without having to take their eyes off the road.
Originally ,heads up displays were deployed for aircraft pilots for both military and domestic flying assistance. Now it can be used in cars and flying cars
GPS And Navigation
Navigation system are rapidly becoming irreplaceable in our daily life .They have virtually obliterated the need to remember routes, and can even function without the internet enabled .This is achieved by means of GPS (geo positioning satellite) which can locate various paths between your current location and desired destination.
Carbon Fibre
Carbon fibre was initially used in making fan blades for jet engines, before it was used in automobiles.Carbon fibre remains ,by far the most powerful evolution in material sciences to date .While it is not a tangible technology in terms of interactive use, carbon fibre has been a favourite in the automotive industry for many years.
Tire Pressure monitoring System (TPMS)
Putting air in to your tires is one of the most trivial and often overlooked aspect of almost all vehicles ownership.
However amount of air in your tire plays a crucial role in determining the cushioning you have against bad roads ,while improving occupant comfort and gas mileage.
Many modern cars are now outfitted with small sensors present at the valve of your tire that relay  the air pressure information to the driver.
In order to insure that space shuttle land safely .It was important to ensure  that they did not have a flat tire .NASA hired an agency to design an appliance that would provide the exact pressure details to austronauts.Tire pressure sensors are made of a piezo -resistive material that converts pressure into electrical resistance. Resistance fluctuates with any change pressure, which is then recorded as the amount of air available in the tire.

Nurses Day 2022

Blogging In English

The theme for 2022 is 'Nurses: A Voice to Lead - Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health'.
May 12 was chosen as the day to commemorate nurses' contribution because of the splendid work carried out by Florence Nightingale -- the founder of modern nursing. Born on May 12, 1820, Florence Nightingale was a British nurse and social reformer and is revered as “The Lady with the Lamp”.
The date of celebration of International Nurses Day was chosen to celebrate Florence Nightingale's birth anniversary and her pioneering work in nursing and social reforms. During the Crimean War (1854-1856), she volunteered to be appointed as a nurse to serve wounded soldiers.
Every year, May 12 is celebrated as International Nurses Day. It's the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. She was born on this day in 1820. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the significance of International Nurses Day became even more evident.
What Registered Nurses Do. Registered nurses set up plans for patient care. Registered nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families.

Each year a service is held in Westminster Abbey in London. During the service, a symbolic lamp is taken from the Nurses' Chapel in the Abbey and handed from one nurse to another, thence to the Dean, who places it on the High Altar.
The Full form of NURSE is Nurse Practitioner. NURSE is commonly abbreviated as NP. An NP is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed an advanced training program in a medical specialty, such as pediatric care. An NP may be a direct, primary health care provider, and can prescribe medications.
Resources. Becoming a voice to lead means talking to governments, community leaders, policy makers and investors. Here you will find everything you need to campaign for access to heath and universal health coverage, and to provide the evidence you need to convince others that health is a human right.
Nurses are high-impact leaders — Nightingale set the vision for nursing as a profession. She established principles and priorities for nursing education. She was an early proponent of evidence-based care. She recognized the privilege of nurses to view, understand, and transform health care systems.

  • The vision for future healthcare calls for a partnership between the health system, other sectors (e.g. education, transport, etc.), government and the public to work together to build a “healthy and health creating society” (Crisp, 2020).
  • Nurses are distinct from other healthcare providers as they have a wide scope of practice and approach to medical care. They play an integral role in promoting health, preventing illness, and caring for all individuals, including those who are disabled or are physically or mentally ill.

    Monkeypox- Protect From Virus

    Blogging In English

Transmission of monkeypox virus occurs when a person comes into contact with the virus from an animal, human, or materials contaminated with the virus. The virus enters the body through broken skin (even if not visible), respiratory tract, or the mucous membranes (eyes, nose, or mouth).
Currently, there is no proven, safe treatment for monkeypox virus infection. For purposes of controlling a monkeypox outbreak in the United States, smallpox vaccine, antivirals, and vaccinia immune globulin (VIG) can be used.
Despite its name, the monkeypox virus no longer comes from monkeys. Scientists aren't certain, but it's thought to be spread by small rodents and squirrels in the rainforests of Africa. There are two types (strains) of monkeypox virus — Central African and West African.
In humans, the symptoms of monkeypox are similar to but milder than the symptoms of smallpox. Monkeypox begins with fever, headache, muscle aches, and exhaustion.
Infection with monkeypox virus begins with an incubation period. A person is not contagious during this period. Incubation period averages 7−14 days but can range from 5−21 days.
At this time, there are no specific treatments available for monkeypox infection, but monkeypox outbreaks can be controlled. Smallpox vaccine, cidofovir, ST-246, and vaccinia immune globulin (VIG) can be used to control a monkeypox outbreak.
Estimates of the case-fatality rate for monkeypox in Africa vary from 1% to 15%, with the highest risk of death in young children. In one study of 300 patients in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the overall mortality rate was 10% and the mortality rate in unvaccinated children was 15-20%.
In the absence of smallpox, the main clinical diagnostic problem is the differentiation of human monkeypox from chickenpox. The presence of lymphadenopathy, pre-eruptive fever and slower maturation of skin lesions are the most important clinical signs supporting correct diagnosis of monkeypox.
About two to four days after fever develops, a rash with papules and pustules develops most often on the face and chest, but other body areas may eventually be affected, including mucus membranes inside the nose and mouth.
While smallpox was eradicated in 1980, monkeypox continues to occur in countries of Central and West Africa
Monkeypox virus is an enveloped double‐stranded DNA virus with a genome size of around 190 kb. It belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae family. The Orthopoxvirus genus also includes Vaccinia virus, Cowpox virus, Variola virus and several other, animal-related, poxviruses [2].
The virus, which was first discovered in a lab monkey in the 1960s, causes lymph nodes to swell and brings on a full-body rash. It generally lasts two to four weeks, but as there's no treatment, those who are infected don't need to be hospitalized.
Persons who have had close or intimate contact with individuals or animals confirmed to have Monkeypox should also be vaccinated. These persons can be vaccinated up to 14 days after exposure.
Monkeypox is a relatively uncommon disease. Risk factors include animal bites and scratches from infected animals (mainly African rodents or monkeys) or from other rodents (like prairie dogs) that have had contact with African animals infected with the virus.
