It was developed by two Frenchmen named Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce. In the same year, the then French government acquired the patent for the invention and gave it to the world as a gift. Ever since, this day is commemorated as the World Photography Day.
The World Photography Day's history dates back to 1837 when Frenchmen Joseph Nicephore Niepce and Louis Daguerre invented the 'daguerreotype'. It was the world's first-ever photographic process. In January 9, 1939, the French Academy of Sciences officially endorsed the daguerreotype.
How to celebrate: Grab your trusty camera (your smartphone camera will do), and try out these ideas:
  1. [1]Explore your community and take pictures of things that catch your eye.
  2. [2] Grab a few friends and take portraits of each other.
  3. [3] Create a photo booth and stock it with wacky props that show off your goofy side.
  4.  [4] Post your favorite photos you’ve taken online—don’t forget the hashtag!
  5. Photography adds so much value to our lives – by recording special events, people, and places, while also helping us learn and grow as people. It allows you to share your life and experiences in meaningful ways, and it allows you to engage and have fun with other people.
  6. Their work is always open for interpretation, it asks questions rather than gives answers. As any visual art form, photography exploits vulnerabilities of the human visual perception and can make us experience emotions that move us and compel us to do things that we otherwise would not even think of.
  7. Photographs play an important role in everyone's life – they connect us to our past, they remind us of people, places, feelings, and stories. They can help us to know who we are.
  8. A good photographer is passionate about photography and willing to learn and improve continuously. Acquiring technical skills is just the beginning. A good photographer also needs an artistic vision and storytelling skills. All these take time to develop, but they will become your second nature soon.
  9. In general, photography as a hobby can be a great source of comfort, especially if you do it on your own. For example, going for a walk to take landscape photos will expose you to fresh air and help you connect with nature. Going out to take photos with friends will let you socialise and be creative at the same time.

  10. Definition of photography;the art or process of producing images by the action of radiant energy and especially light on a sensitive surface (such as film or an optical sensor)
  11. Photographs also reflect the eye and artistry of the photographer; we appreciate a great photograph not only because of its subject, but also because of how the photographer shot it.Photographs are used to tell stories in many different ways. Sciences use photography to document new plants or to be able to study animals in more depth. Photos are used in text books to teach students about different places around the world. Family portraits hang on walls of almost every home.A powerful image is one that looks real. Remember, you are trying to evoke an emotion — a genuine feeling in the viewer that connects them to the photograph. You want your viewer to mentally put themselves in the photograph, or at least, feel like they are in the same space as they view it.you are born with or have acquired without learning. For a studio portrait photographer, it's likely all about skill. For a sports photographer, it's probably both. For a photojournalist, it's probably mostly talent. As photographers, we can be inspired by many things before clicking the shutter on a scene or subject to capture a moment in time. It could be the light falling on a scene or the look in someone's eyes. It might be the time of day or the time of year. Maybe it's a combination of a lens choice and a situation.
