Knowing and Doing (English)

I would like to start with famous lines of francis Becon"Simple man admires study, crafty man condemn it and wise man use it."Knowing something  is the easy part.Actually putting it into actions is an entirely different story. We all know we should eat healthy, exercise, work hard, study regularly and be disciplined. But how many of us live the principles we mostly talk.Across time and through history people have felt the yearning for meaning and purpose. It is seldom pursued or satisfied completely. Enter the "knowing doing gap". How can we wise enough to use our knowlege?             The knowing-doing gap is the disconnect between knowlege and action.Knowlege is often mistaken for wisdom. We admire people who have merely gathered facts ,information and data.Rare are the wise who have transformed themselves from within. The ancient indian sages emphasised wisdom  and prescribed a clear pathway by which this knowing -doing gap could be bridged. They prescribed three stages of gaining wisdom. The first is " shravana"(listening) The intake of knowledge. The second stage,"Manana"(Assimilations) is reflection, thinking, viewing the same thing from different angles, and experimenting with it.One should integrate it in to his system, live it.We are now the wiser for it.Most people stop with just the intake of knowlege.                       The last stage is "Nidhidhyasana" (Concentrate over what we have learnt.).             Long before we take on the world,we have to win against our deadliest opponent-'we'!We have allowed ourself to believe we can't.We imposed limitations on ourself.Become subservient to the world. We look at obstacles, not opportunities.Using golf terminology, we have lost our swing.       Find purpose .What are we living for?     Life cannot be just growing, getting a job, going on a few vacations, growing old and dying. In the end we want meaning in life,More zest, energy, vitality. We want to wake up excited, with a thirst for life we haven't felt since childhood.                        Now our priority should be from wanting to change the world to changing oneself. The world is only projection of our mind.A happy mind projects a happy world,a tormented mind sees a miserable world.Change your thoughts and your world changes miraculously. The indian scripture "The Bhagwat Gita" help us understand ourself,Identify our strengths and leverage them to overcome our weakness. Like is famous  legendary  hero and bowman Arjun speaks of words of wisdom but unable to live them.Lord Krishna bridges the knowing- doing gap in treatise  by guided reflection. He presents the knowlege from a fresh perspective and ignites original thinking .                          As human ,we have the choice of focusing on the world,or penetrating through to the spirit.Pursue limited, myopic.goals or rise above the obvious and seek the Eternal. The choice is ours.Whichever path we choose and ensures,we obtain what we strive for:All path leads to god.           We need to find the most effective path to the goal of total fulfilment A few  people visualise that which transcends the material plan and  worship God.They belong to four categories. Some turn to God only to enhance wealth. The distressed, who meet with tragic circumstances and are agitated, seek solace.Others are curious and look for mere information. But the wise, excel. They see the futility of worldly pursuits and strive for the  transcendental .They  seek permanent happiness. They reach enlightenment.        Do the things as a detached observer and find happiness within.
