Improve health Services(English)

Recent pandemic has taught us lesson to improve our health  care system. Preventive and curative part of health should  be given  importance. It is a high time when we have to think to include Health education in our school  syllabus.First  we need to know how the current and.  traditional health care model delivers care to us.                       (1) End Conflict of interest:It takes a fee for service, rewarding for quantity of services provided. This provides caregivers and systems incentives for higher number of visits, procedures, diagnostics and treatment with medications-which might not necessarily be in the line with an individual's health and wellness.                 This is evidenced by a recent study in madhyapradesh in which 10% of the population was found to be using medication inappropriate at any given point in time. This number jumped to nearly 50% for those over 65.There is also a lack of transparency when it comes to outcomes;with ill-defined or non -existence metrics to analyse these even in place. For example,, do you know  the outcomes of the surgeries done at the hospital where  you  are looking to get  your or your relative's,surgery done?                                 (2) Incentivise Disease Prevention:-The current system is not  incentivised to prevent us all from getting disease, but to treat us when we do have a disease. There is a place for this of course as we will inevitably get ill and need treatment at some stage, but how do we create a system which is incentivised to attempt to keep us at your healthiest and happiest? A system that could prevent millions getting diabetes?           This is where 'value -based healthcare'    comes in.This is a quality based system in which fees are paid for outcome of the treatment or indeed for preventing disease.                             (3)Control Unnecessary Costs:       Patient and individual are kept at the centre of care, their well being aligned with business outcomes, preventing excessive treatment or diagnostics.Reimbursments are linked with meeting particular performance criteria, like the outcomes patients or consumers have after the treatment. The indian health-care system is not too dissimilar to that of the US and in 2009.It was found that the US spent extra 33% on superfluous healthcare costs such as unnecessary services, excess administration costs and inefficient systems.                          (4)Imagine  proactive Doctors :-At present the system is very reactive. You not only interact with Doctors  and health care system when you have a problem or you are ill.But imagine if along with a doctor, you have  an entire health care team that is proactively looking out for your health and wellness, to help you achieve your goals and be the best version of you.       When it comes to shopping, we have shopping assistance and clever algorithms to help us identify the clothes we would want to purchase. So why when it comes to health, do you have to navigate such a fragmented system and one where you are not sure and have to question if some thing is in your best interest and seek second opinion.       (5)Integrate Outcomes and insurance:-Imagine having a team helping you with a integrated care, providing appropriate guidance every step of the way, making sure that   you get the best management options in the most cost efficient manner.                           Now imagine this sort of system being embedded into your insurance, which, during Covid, we have seen can be critical. The financial incentives for this health care system is to improve the health of its customers  as its payments are directly related to their health outcomes.                       Goodbye to the fragmented healthcare system,There will be standardised outcomes and cost of care.Organisations producing the best outcomes will get the best payments, ideally from an insurer.                           Instead of living with disease, lets live in health.                              (6)Improve  rural hospitals:We don't have hospitals  in sufficient numbers in rural area but due to various educational programs, schools are found in most of the villages. These schools and their resources full teacher can be used for spreading health awareness. One room with various tools must be provided to each school where students as well as villagers will get healthcare.
