The day is intended for reflection to commemorate the political autonomy of Argentina and the birth of what is known today as one of the most naturally beautiful and culturally proud countries in Latin America. Many people leave the city for Tigre, greater Buenos Aires Province, or other local travel destinations to spend the long 3 day weekend with friends and family enjoying traditional Argentine food and other cultural pastimes.
