Conserve water

I remember Great indian poet Tulsi das saying "O god for sake of  people please keep water, as without water all our jwels, literature and   palaces are worthless".                                           Water is valuable commodity for all of us yet we are very careless in using it. Increasing usr of water in industrial , commercial  and agricultural use, created scarcity of water  in some part of world. In India we have unequal raifal. Some part of India experiences flood while other face drought.                                        It is high time we should think of saving this precious resource. Rain water harvesting is the technique we can widely use to preserve water. Start from our home we can adopt rough water harvesting.Water can be saved in vaccinity of our home.. By filtration technique water can be saved in well dug near house. In time of scarcity ,this water can be used for domestic.and gardening purpose.                          Great advantage of rain water harvesting can be seen in field of agriculture . In foure corner of agricultural field we can dug water sucking  pit. This pit can be prepared with  minimum 6 feet of  pit(whole) made in field. With sand and pebble put in it. Pit can be cover with small bricks. When rainfall takes place, water through it goes to earth . Through the equifire of earth it is distributed in the field. As a result we have good ground water recharge ..We can enjoy the crop even when low rainfall.                    Connecting of river is also solution to send water in low raifall area. In madhya pradesh it is successfully done to link Narmada and shipra river.                                                               Afforestation in large scale should be done along the banks of the river so the problem of flood can be addressed. We should turn our river into water ways so people can enjoy these forests and transportron is effectively done.
