Power of Gratitude

 The researcher found that writing as few as three weekly thank you notes over  the course of three weeks improved life satisfaction, increased happy feelings and reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety. It is far more helpful to focus on the things in life for which we can express gratitude than those that incline us toward resentment and lamentation.
: Here we will discuss some benefits of gratitude. When we  focus on the things we regret,such as failed relationship, family disputes,and setback in career and finance.we tend to become more regretful.Conversely when we focus on the things we are grateful for,a greater sense of happiness tends to pervade our lives..And while no one would argue for cultivating a false sense of blessedness,there is a mounting evidence that counting our blessing is one of the best habits we can develop to promote mental and physical health.Martin Luther says"It is not merely an attitude but a virtue to be put into practice."The Quran says"Whoever give thanks benefits own soul.".                      Recent studies support these  ancient teachings. Individual who regularly engage to gratitude exercises,such as counting their blessings or expressing gratitude to others,exhibit increased satisfaction with relationships and fewer symptoms of illness And the benefits are not only psychological and physical,They May also be moral_those who practice gratitude also view their lives less materialistically and suffer from less  envy.
: Why gratitude is good for us?We have to find the answer of this pertinent question. One is the fact that expressing gratitude encourages others to continue being generous,thus promoting virtuous cycle of goodness in relationship.Similarly grateful people May be more likely to reciprocate with acts of kindness of their own.Broadly speaking a community in which people feel grateful to one another is likely to be more pleasant place to live than one characterised by mutual suspicion and resentment.             When people feel good what someone else has done for them,they experience a sense of being lifted up,with a corresponding enhancement of their regard for humanity. Some are inspired to attempt to become better people themselves., doing more to help bring out the best in others and bringing more goodness into the world around them.. Gratitude also tends to strengthen  a sense of  connection with others.Gratitude increases the level of dedication in relationship which  will be I long lasting It grows togetherness  and feeling of affection in daily acts.
 Benefit of gratitude  will not be realised if someone feels some ulterior motive not worthy of kindness he received. Gratitude  can flourish only only if  people are secure enough in themselve and sufficiently trusting to allow it to do so.
 How we practice gratitude is also important question before us.Writing thank you note and by meditation on help received by us from many soul. Reflecting on the things in life for which we are greatful.Gratitude is one of the healthiest and most nourishing of all state of mind ,and those who adopt it as a habit are enriching not only their own lives but also the lives of those around them .In  my childhood I saw my grand parents performing daily puja at evening and morning. It was daily routine in home which was a daily thank giving to god. I also saw him taking round of village and knowing well being of the people and giving them help in time of need. It made his life full of fulfilment ,joy and popularity.
DEFINITION OF GRATITUDE;
The quality of being thankful readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness .Gratitude is warm feeling of thankfulness  towards the world .or toward specific individuals. The person who feels gratitude is thankful for what they posses ,and does not constantly desire for more.
EXAMPLES OF GRATITUDE
[1]Being thankful to the person who cooked for you.
[2]Being thankful for your good health.
[3]Appreciating the person who cleans your house
[4]Acknowledging your junior at work for taking the initiative to ease your workload.
[5] being greatful to yourself for your financial independence
