International Yoga day (English)-2022

Today 21 June is international Yoga day.It is a pride recognition of indian yogic science by international community. In his Yog sutras(treatise on yoga),Sage Patanjali has defined yoga as the restraining of thought waves, and yoga postures are among the eight means for the purification and wellness of body, mind and soul.       The Bhagvat Gita, a treatise on yoga, disseminates different forms of yoga that might be practiced by different people. It prescribed the path of devotion for householders, the path of knowlege for those intellectually inclined, and path of action for agile. It vividly describe us a progressive path from the yoga of action to that of devotion and finally of wisdom.                                              Many believe that a sound body by itself produces sound mind. But actually, it's the other way around .A sound mind which in turn emanates from a sound spirit is the seed of holistic health and wellness.                The mind and intellect are faculties of the soul, which is non physical, spiritual entity.Nutritious food, regular exercise, and adequate rest are necessary to keep the body strong and sound.Similarly, the mind needs a diet of positive thoughts and meditational  exercises to stay healthy and happy.                                               The information we consume   and the thoughts we create are food for the mind.Hence ,the quality  and quantity of thoughts determine our state of mind.Yoga postures can give us a healthy body. But if the soul has any weakness, it will  perform wrong actions through the body.                               Therefore mental postures are more important than physical postures. And controlling of thoughts always comes before controlling one's,breathing. We can't loose sight of the spiritual essence of yog,and can't reduce it to mere physical and breathing exercise.By doing so.,we would deprive ourselves of true yoga.                   The highest form of yoga,as per the Gita,is a communion of the soul with God .It fills us with God's powers and virtues such as peace, purity, truth and love.True harmony is developed between soul and external world, spirit and matter, thought and action.lt enables the yogi to live in love, peace and harmony with self, fellow beings, nature and environment,.                               Yoga also has a benevolent effect on human body.A peaceful and emotionally stable life keep the body's neurological and hormonal functions well regulated. It is also true that the majority of physical ailments are psychosomatic. A healthy mind keeps the immune system robust and prevents many disease.                             Now it's worthwhile to introduce the ancient Raj Yoga meditation to the world. It inspires a loving communication of one's inner being, for experiencing true peace, poise ,power and positivity in life.                                  RajYoga meditation, which is a positive and optimistic way of thinking and living, can be practiced by all,ill or well. Its regular practice can insulate the mind, body and spirit from all kind of vices and viruses, stress and strain. It can ensure not only our holistic well being but also a better and saner life. It improves our interpersonal behaviour and work efficiency. With a better control over mind ,we can make our life happy and beautiful.
