Ladi Kwali-Potter ,Ceramicist And Educator

 Ladi Kwali, OON, MBE was a Nigerian potter, ceramicist and educator. Ladi Kwali was born in the village of Kwali in the Gwari region of Northern Nigeria, where pottery was an indigenous occupation among women. She learned to make pottery as a child by her aunt using the traditional method of coiling.

Kwali was an educator, glassworker, potter, and ceramicist who brought the beauty of Nigerian Art to the limelight through her well-decorated earthenware designs.

Ladi Dosei Kwali was the pioneer of modern pottery in Nigeria. Kwali was born to Gbagyi parents in 1925 in the village of Kwali, located in the Gwari region of present-day Abuja, where pottery used to be a common occupation among women.
